Hmmm. Disabling all plugins and extensions and then re-enabling them seems to have fixed things. I'll have to experiment with what plugin/extension is the problem...

Thanks

If it's not too much work, could you please disable all these extensions temporarily, restart Firefox and test whether the problem still occurs?

I'm running Windows XP. The FF Extensions I have installed are:

* ActiveInbox for GMail and Google Apps 4.0.2.22
* AusLogics Toolbar 3.12.2.100006
* Evernote Web Clipper 5.0.0.170767
* FoxTab 1.4.4
* Google Shortcuts 2.1.6
* IE Tab2 (FF 3.6+) 3.5.9.1
* It's All Text! 1.6.0
* Java Quick Starter 1.0
* Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 0.0.0
* Personas 1.6.2
* ReminderFox 1.9.9.4.2
* Toodledo 1.78
* Yahoo! Toolbar 2.3.8.20110620112826

A few other plugins were disabled because they are not compatible with FF 6.0.

:dex:

Do you have any Firefox extensions installed? I can't reproduce the problem with vanilla Firefox 6 on Windows 7.

Firefox (still) migrating between desktops

Post by DSM » 23.08.2011 21:48:33

I see that this problem may have been around for awhile...

I'm using Dexpot 1.5.12b1690 with Firefox. Ever since upgrading to Firefox 4 (&5&6), I've had problems with Firefox staying put on a desktop. I typically start up a few Firefox windows with multiple tabs on each. Each window will be put on different Dexpot desktops depending on the content of the window. For instance, I might have an FF window playing a radio channel that I'll move to my Entertainment desktop so that it's out of the way, but I can still listen to it.

The problem I'm seeing is that, if I click on something in an FF window that pops up a new window, *all* the currently open FF windows migrate to the current desktop. Just activating a window does not cause this to happen.

Any ideas on how to handle this?
