Other than complain to Google? I don't know. Do you have this problem only with Chrome?

It's hard to tell what's going on without more information. My guess is that you opened a second instance of Chrome on another desktop and that affected the Z-order of the original Chrome window.

I'm on Windows XP with 1.5.8 build 1434.

When I go to another desktop, the windows in that desktop are sometimes shown in a wrong order; for example, when I left that desktop Chrome may have been below Notepad, but when I come back Chrome is on top of Notepad.

What is this? How can I stop this?
