So, after some further testing, I've determined the following:
1. The issue occurs when Switching Desktops->Desktop Icons-> Auto Arrange is selected.
2. When I right click my background and select Refresh, it shows three columns of desktop icons
3. When I switch between desktops, the first column of desktop icons are hidden behind the taskbar, and the remaining two columns of desktop icons are visible.

The issue does not occur if Auto Arrange is turned off. For now, the solution is to turn off Auto Arrange.

Regards,
Mike

Which options do you have enabled in the Dexpot settings under "Switching Desktops -> Desktop elements -> Desktop icons"? How much of the icons is covered by the taskbar? Could you provide a screenshot?

Taskbar hiding desktop icons

Post by mpaisner » 20.07.2010 21:23:53

I like to have my taskbar on the left side of the screen instead of the bottom. However, when I do this with Dexpot, the taskbar covers the desktop icons.

Is there any way to fix this?

My apologies if this is a duplicate thread - i looked, but didn't see this issue listed anywhere.

Regards,
Mike
