Wallpaper suddenly bright

Hi everyone. I have a problem with my wallpaper turning extremely bright at times when using dexpot. I can reproduce this by clicking the show desktop icon, which is what I have to do to get my icons to display on other desktops other than number 1. Any idea how to stop this or set it back?
