Hi atstester,

yep, this is a known Windows-Problem. mscomctl.ocx is a part of the VB6 runtime and gets locked when a VB6 application (e.g. Dexpot) is running. The problem is that it does not get immediately unlocked when you exit the respective application.
So, if you install Dexpot 1.4 immediately after ending and uninstalling the 1.3 version, the .ocx might still be locked by Windows. Waiting for some minutes solves the problem.

But: You can simply ignore the error message that the file could not be copied. The file is there, that's what counts.

I can start the installation but after I have selected my destination folder (which is : D:\Program Files) I get a popup message saying :

error opening file for writing

C:\WinNT\system32\mscomctl.ocx

Abort, Retry, Ignore

Choosing Ignore continues the installation process, Retry does nothing...

Anyone else have this problem too ?

P.S. I deinstalled Dexpot 1.3 first. (installation of the previous version is without errors...)
