Will my desktop as I know it be gone forever (I'm quite fond of the way it is ~ just isn't big enough!). Just to know one way or the other ...
First Dexpot doens't change your actual Desktop Settings related to the icons. All Icons are on Desktop 1.
Actually, like frinski above, I'm not sure I understand the programme.
I dont see the advantage of having different windows open in different desktops ~ does it save memory usage or is it for people who like having loads of programmes open at same time ?
My interest is in having different desktops with different icons, say, image related; tools; text related; whatever
You can use Dexpot for both. Send a window to another Desktop or have different Desktops with differnet Icons (and Wallpapers...)
didnt realise I couldnt edit post
Only if you are registered
Can I then set up Dexpot so I can change between these Desktops without affecting the open windows ?
Would the idea be that once you have these different desktops that the programmes related to them would be minimised on that desktop taskbar ??
I like the idea of having different desktops (icons), but being able to see ALL the open programmes on the taskbar.
Is that possible with Dexpot ?
(I just love that name !!)
The idea is, that an application started normally will stay on the current desktop. e.g. the Windows-Explorer is started on Desktop 1 and you change to Desktop 3 you'll not see the Explorer Window on D 3. If you change back to D 1 the window is still there.
You can
send/copy a window to another desktop manually or with Dexpot-Rules.
