Thanks Mit, for the reply.

Yes, I did save the profile under a different name. ( not the default one). The problem persists.

Hi Amit,

which profile are you saving the changes in? In case you use the standard or default profile, please save it under a different name (e.g. "Amit) and try again ... that's be my first guess :D

Custom desktop icons (Windows 98SE)

Post by Amit » 02.11.2005 20:28:12

Hi,

Need help.

I am trying to re-organize my desktop icons ( many !) in to four desktops. I am saving the complete profile after allocating the icons into corresponding desktops. However, when I restart Windows, all the icons keep showing up on the first desktop (and the other three desktops have no icons). The problem persists even after I load the saved profile.

My configuration :
* The Dexpot setting “Customize desktop icons” is ON (checked).
* Dexpot version 1.3
* Windows 98 SE

Am I missing something ?. I have seen other postings on the same topic, but it appears that the platform in each of those cases was Windows XP. I am wondering whether this issue is specific to Windows 98 ?.

Thanks much.

Amit
